Microgreens
Are you dreaming of summer? Get the taste of summer in 6 easy steps
Are you dreaming of summer? Longing for the sun and fresh grown veggies? I am! Unfortunately I can’t control the sun – YET, but actually I grow fresh greens year round pretending winter doesn’t exist with microgreens.
Would you like to know how? The secret is to grow microgreens. Microgreens are tiny, tasty plants harvested 1-2 week after they have germinated. They are packed with vitamins and flavour and they give your meals a gastronomic and decorative touch.
Microgreens – Sprout tiny gardens
Sprout tiny gardens are small boxes made of waterproof cardboard. Inside you will find a hemp mat and an envelope with seeds along with a small folder with growing instructions.
Everybody can grow delicious, nutritious and tasty microgreens in their window-sill! It is easy, quick and you don´t have to mess around with soil inside your home.
Follow these easy steps and you can harvest your own greens in 7-10 days – all year round!
6 easy steps to get the taste of summer:
1.Water the hemp mat. It should be pretty wet – there should ideally be a little water in the bottom of the box
2. Sow the seeds evenly on the wet hemp mat. Use all the seeds in the envelope
3. Place your Sprout tiny gardens in a warm place and as light as possible. In winter time, you should be extra careful to give them as much light as possible, preferably a southward windowsill. Note that in summertime, you should avoid direct sunlight
4. Keep the hemp mat wet, check it every day
5. Cut off the fresh microgreens with a pair of scissors when the first leaves emerge
6. Eat and enjoy!
Sprout tiny gardens give everybody the possibility to own a micro-garden and make it easy to succeed with growing – a tiny bit of – their own food. I would like everybody to feel the same joy and happiness as I have; when I see plants germinate and grow. I hope you will give tiny gardens and microgreens a try – while we are waiting for the sun.
