They are now available on our webshop here.

Valentins day

Do you know why Valentine’s Day originated? We don’t know exactly but we love to believe that the following story is true:

Under the Roman Empire, a priest named Valentine was imprisoned because he performed illegal marriages between soldiers and their girlfriends and. Marriage was forbidden to avoid too many widowers, but love was not so easy to concur.

In the prison, Valentine healed the daughter of his jailer. She was called Julia and she was cured for blindness – and maybe he had fallen in love with her, because she received a farewell letter from him just before he was executed. The letter was signed “Your Valentine”.

The story tells that Valentine was executed on the 14th. of February because of his Christian belief and later canonised as a Saint.

We don’t know if the story is true, whether Valentine’s love-letter was written on seeded paper, but hopefully our sprouting Valentine edition card and products will give back in several ways – to your love, to you and to nature – so go green for Valentine’s Day and give lots of sustainable love!
